Glycolic acid (AG) is one of the most used chemicals for superficial peeling.

This AHA produces a series of alterations in the epidermis and the papillary dermis, in whole or in part.

The procedure generates variations in the skin by stimulating epidermal proliferation, by destroying specific layers of altered skin, or by inducing not well-known inflammatory reactions.

After several applications of this type of peel, changes in the skin can be observed such as deposits of new collagen and an increase in GAGs in the papillary dermis that need to repair the photo skin damage.
